Intra-Articular Corticosteroid Injection

Used to treat osteoarthritis of the knee, intra-articular corticosteroid injections offer relief to patients by reducing the swelling of tendons and ligaments in joints affected by osteoarthritis. At Rushmore Pain & Medicine, we use this treatment for patients who haven’t responded well to treatment with analgesics or non-steroidal anti-iflamatory drugs, (or NSAIDs).

Osteoarthritis occurs when the flexible tissue at the ends of bones wears down.
